Administrative Services

Administrative reviews are a critical part of ensuring the proper operation of a service agency. This consultation will give you the tools to successfully be prepared for state surveys and specific steps to take to have accurate, compliant files and operation within your agency. You will gain an understanding of the criteria needed in providing appropriate training for staff, implementing and maintaining trend analysis, and requirements for administrative documentation.

Challenging Behaviors

Addressing someone's challenging behaviors is often the most difficult and time-consuming part of providing services. The importance of assessing and appropriately addressing someone's behavioral needs cannot be understated. We will work directly with you on how to assess someone's needs by using tools, such as the Comprehensive Life Review, and when to use a Functional Analysis, as well as assist you in developing effective behavioral ISSPs. We will show you how to appropriately and efficiently address challenging behavior in a way that is minimally invasive and protects the person's rights. In some cases, we may coordinate with Denver Options' Behavioral Health Team to meet your needs.

ISSP and Habilitation

The foundation of everything we do is habilitation. We are all striving to teach our customers skills so they can be more independent. Individualized Service and Support Plans (ISSP) are the tools by which we attain habilitation, and they also demonstrate to regulatory agencies that the mission and goals of the agency are being met. This consultation will address your customer's specific and individual habilitation needs and we will get "down and dirty" by reviewing, writing and sometimes rewriting ISSPs in order to make them as effective as possible.

Protocols

How do you develop a g-tube protocol? How do you make sure everyone knows how to respond when someone is aspirating? These are just two of the many questions that are answered through the use of a protocol. This consultation will demonstrate the importance of protocols and under what conditions a protocol is needed, based on your agency's functions and needs. We will discuss writing an effective, personalized protocol to address specific issues, as well as finding alternatives to a protocol and when it is appropriate to do so. This consultation will enable you to write and implement a clear and concise protocol, as well as effectively train and track protocols.

Monitoring

Are you interested in developing an internal monitoring tool for your agency? This consultation is an opportunity for you to obtain the knowledge and tools needed to successfully complete a monitoring with minimal to no follow-up. The types of monitorings covered are residential, day program and SLS. Internal monitoring and file reviews are areas that can be covered in a consultation with samples to use so that you may create your own checklist.

Health and Safety and Environment

Assessments—just the word alone can strike apprehension in service providers. The time it takes to complete an assessment can be substantial, but what are the benefits? We will demonstrate how to complete a Health and Safety Assessment and turn that assessment into a useful planning tool that can be used several ways. You will leave this consultation with the knowledge required to complete and implement an effective assessment for the people you serve.

Mock Surveys

Would you like to be more prepared before the State Survey Team visits your agency? Incident Reports/MANE

We can provide training that is specific to your agency needs in the completion of incident reports and identifying/defining instances of Mistreatment, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation (MANE). Discussion topics include the importance of completing incident reports in a timely manner and how those reports are utilized. When an allegation of MANE is suspected, we cover the investigation process and what staff and providers can expect if they are involved in an investigation.
